Liberty Global plc is the world’s largest international dynamic media TV and broadband company, with operations in more than 30 countries. They invited BASE to carry out the fit-out of another floor of Griffin House at Hammersmith Road.
The design of the 2nd floor in conjunction with Unwork provides an office space that is functional but it also provides an interesting floor plate with curving corridors and ceilings that helps to give the illusion of a bigger expanse of space.
The arrangement is less uniform and overall more interesting and displays something less regimented to other floors in the building. The spaces of the height adjustable desks are aligned at angles as opposed to being uniform and square. Roundabouts help with flow at junctions and meeting points help to add interest to the floor plate. Client confidentiality was an important factor with acoustic specialists employed to ensure we met the brief. Privacy was very important to the client so we provided a variety of meeting rooms, three phone booths and a boardroom housing an impressive 28 person meeting room table.
The break out areas offer exposed services with high ceilings and feature Bolon flooring that separates these areas from the rest of the office. The library has a large bespoke hand crafted table, oak flooring and white ash bespoke cupboards. Anyone visiting Liberty Global would agree that the end result is a very high end and stylish one.
